Happy Poem in Your Pocket Day!
It’s #NationalPoetryMonth and today is “Poem in Your Pocket Day”! As you may know, my muses (and myself!) love poetry, and I’d like to nominate the poetry that accompanies “Muse 1” and “Muse 2” to spend time in your pocket.
I’llĀ tell you how it started
I was in the studio one day when
I had a moment A MOMENT!
I felt like Ovid or Homer or perhaps
Andy Warhol. I stood in a shaft of light
in my illegal artist loft and said
O sing Muse
of a time when gods walked the earth like
mortals And they did
The muses sang and the gods walked
First lurking invisibly then haunting
my studio and refusing to leave
